History of the family

The Winery

Aging in cask

Obtaining the highest quality wines requires owning an agriculture heritage, which enables the independence of the winery. Therefore all our wine production comes from the family vineyard, which consists of 100 ha, whose production accounts for 100% of its needs.

It is also characteristic of the land where it is located, Aldeanueva de Ebro, Alfaro, Autol and Rincón de Soto, all belonging to the DOCa Rioja, they are old vineyards with low yields, calcareous clay soil with many boulders that achieves greater penetration of roots and a better water filtration.

The varieties grown are Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo; typical varieties of Rioja, with extreme climatic conditions in this region, wet and cold winters and dry summers, encourage the practice of quality wine production. La Rioja is one of the few regions in the world where wine is made only with the local varieties and this is one of the points of our philosophy, our own cultivated varieties that have successfully positioned Rioja wines among the best wines in the world.

We cultivate the different vineyards always animated by a responsible environmental concern and therefore has never been used more than a minimum number of preventive treatments in the vineyards, and although they have always remained very close to organic, in 1990 we decided to include one of our best vineyards within the organic certification. So in 2005 we began distributing our first range of organic wines.
